We often say that somebody performs an action.
When we refer to that somebody by a pronoun,
we have what we call pattern 2B:
|Pattern 2B||Personal pronoun||AY actor-focus verb|
|He||bought a house in California.|
|Siya|| ay bumili ng bahay sa California.|
[sentence [subject [personal-pronoun Siyá]] [predicate [predicate-marker ay] [verb-actor-focus
bumilí] [ng-theme ng bahay] [sa-place sa California]]]
In the pattern definition above:
"Personal pronoun" can be replaced by "one or more personal pronouns."
"Actor-focus verb" can be replaced by "one or more actor-focus verbs."
Compare the different patterns:
|2A Personal name||Kiko is moving.|
|2B Personal pronoun||We are not moving.|
|2C Non-personal name||Mother is moving.|
|2D Non-personal pronoun||It is moving.|
