Lesson 138: Baká

Say baká to indicate that you are not sure
of what you are going to say
but you expect it to happen.

Baká manalo ka. You might win.
Baká hindi niyá alám na nandito ka. She may not know you’re here. She may not have known you were here. (Note how the same Filipino sentence maps to two different sentences in English.)
Baká mahulog ka. You might fall.

Use baká to express higher expectation.
